| Here's a sample of the
applications I've developed myself. Some times, when starting a new project, it's convenient to have some tools that help to rapidly design some structural elements with proper approach, accurate, without having to feed a complex software like Revit or STAAD... I am not saying that software packages are not good... on the contrary, they're wonderful. I use STAAD more than other design software but for a quick analysis of some beams, joists, joist girders or even foundations, a stand alone app is a desirable tool... don't you agree ? Well, I've developed some apps to do that and they have worked fine for me. I am not a software or systems engineer so.. perhaps you will see many things that can be improved, they're written in C# or Pascal and if you like to try them, be my guest, I would love that if you have some ideas to improve the app, please share'em with me...

DCB.exe First, let's take a look at a beam design software. I called this app "DCB". It has integrated the whole AISC W-shapes catalog with all of their properties and uses that catalog to select the most appropriate element to take the imposed loads. Also, you can set up your own table with the sections you prefer and have the software to use it for the design.. just following the rules to create a new table. |

Joist 6.exe Another app is a steel joist design software. This app "Joist 6" works on user provided data tables and I've included a sample of the most common used profile tables, the software selects the most appropriate element to be used for the chords and for the web so that the joist can take the imposed loads. You can set up your own tables with the sections you prefer and have the software to use them for the design.. just following the rules to create a new table. It also allows you to configure a working squad and define prices of consumables as well as crew wages to compute a very acceptable unitary cost per joist. |

IShoe2.exe Another app is an isolated shoe design software. This app "IShoe2" works with very basic information like axial load, soil bearing capacity, concrete yield strength, etc. and it will perform a design based on that information and will provide you with a report for stress, required area, sizing of the slab and required steel rebar, a quick approach to foundations need.
